EV Conversion Process - Finishing Up
Once everything is installed and wired together, we will start testing all systems and components. We will start with charging the battery pack for the first time, making sure each cell gets full charge and the pack is balanced. We will test vacuum pump and brakes, make proper adjustments to vacuum switch, so it holds correct vacuum level. We would test all high voltage systems, by running a motor with wheels off the ground, make sure transmission is shifting, power steering, AC and other systems are working. We would then fabricate covers for rear battery pack, so there are no exposed electrical connections. In some cases the car may require rear suspension upgrade, due to extra weight of the batteries.
We use custom made coilover kits from the company called Ground Control, which are usually made for sport suspension upgrades. We use stiffer than original rear springs to support extra weight while provide original ride height.
